ACTION 2 OF 16

Can AI See Your Prices and Services? Put Key Facts in HTML, Not JavaScript

SHORT ANSWER

Open the page source (Ctrl+U) and look for your price, services, and city. If they show on screen but not in the source, JavaScript adds them, and many AI bots won’t see them. Ask your developer to serve these facts from the server.

Why it matters

Many AI crawlers fetch only the raw HTML and don’t run JavaScript. If your price, service list, or FAQ appears only after scripts load, that information doesn’t exist for the model. So it takes the facts from a competitor whose content is all in the HTML.

Step by step

  1. Pick 5 pages that bring in revenue: your homepage, main service, pricing, strongest comparison page, and contact page.

  2. Open the actual page source, not the inspector: Ctrl+U on Windows, Cmd+Option+U on Mac, or add view-source: before the URL.

  3. Press Ctrl/Cmd+F and search for your price, the name of your main service, your city, and one key number.

  4. Visible on the page but missing from the source? Then JavaScript adds it, and many AI crawlers won’t see it. Write down which facts are missing on which page.

  5. Separately, check facts that live only in images, in tabs that open on click, or only in JSON-LD markup.

  6. Send your developer the brief from the template below, along with your list.

Template: Developer brief

Hi, please make sure the content below is in the HTML
the server returns right away (server-side rendering or pre-rendering),
not added later by JavaScript in the browser:

Pages: [list of 5 URLs]
Content: prices, service names, cities, key numbers,
FAQ answers, and contact details.

How to check:
curl -s https://yoursite.com/pricing | grep -i "[your price]"
should return a match on every page.

How to know it’s done

Your price, service names, city, and key numbers are visible in the source of all 5 pages. The curl check returns a match on each one.

Common mistake

Checking with “View source” in the inspector. The inspector shows the page after JavaScript has run, so everything looks fine. Meanwhile, the raw HTML that AI crawlers fetch is almost empty.

How to tell AI has started using your facts

Ask ChatGPT and Google AI Mode something like “How much does [service] cost at [brand]?” If AI says the information isn’t available or quotes someone else’s numbers, your facts still aren’t getting through.

If you use Dabudai, open Top Pages. After the fix, your pricing and service pages should show up among the pages AI cites for your prompts.

Questions

How do I know if my site loads content with JavaScript?

Compare what you see on screen with the page source (Ctrl+U or view-source:). Anything missing from the source is added by scripts.

Is it enough to have the data in JSON-LD?

No. Markup doesn’t replace visible text. Key facts need to be on the page and in the HTML.

Is this only a problem for React or Vue sites?

Mostly, but it happens on site builders too. Tabs, accordions, and pricing widgets often load separately. Check any site.
