Why it matters

Community discussions often become sources for AI answers, because models trust people’s firsthand experience. But moderators remove self-promotion and ban the accounts behind it. That kind of “contribution” also hurts your brand’s reputation.

Step by step

  1. Find 5–10 threads on Reddit, Quora, or industry forums that AI cites for your queries.

  2. Reply from a real account with a history, not a new one.

  3. Lead with a useful, substantive answer. Mention your product only where it truly fits, and say openly that you work for the company.

  4. Before you post, reread the community’s rules on self-promotion.

Template: Answer structure

1. A direct answer to the question (2–3 sentences).
2. Details from experience: numbers, an example, what worked and what didn't.
3. Options, including competitors if they're a better fit.
4. (If relevant) “Disclosure: I work at [Company], we make [what]. If you're curious: [link].”

How to know it’s done

You have 5–10 useful answers in cited threads, and moderators haven’t removed any of them.

Common mistake

Dropping links to your site everywhere. Moderators delete them, the account gets banned, and AI ignores that source.

How to find the threads AI cites

Ask ChatGPT Search and Google AI Mode the questions people ask in your niche. Note which Reddit and forum links show up among the sources.

If you use Dabudai, filter Sources by community domains. You’ll see the exact threads AI cites for your queries.

Questions

Can I answer from a new account?

Better not. New accounts get blocked more often, and their answers carry less trust. Use a real account with a history.

How often should I answer?

30 minutes a week is enough. A few quality answers count for more than dozens of short ones.

Should I link to my site?

Only if the link actually answers the question, and only with a disclosure that you work for the company. Reread the community rules first.

We can finally see how AI recommends us

«Before, we had no idea how AI tools recommended our business or how they described it. Now we can see both, and some of the insights turned out to be incredibly useful.»
